For the 19th year in a row, Hawks has been a major sponsor of the Zoo’s Fantastic Forest through our donation of freshly cut evergreens that transform the U.S. Bank Gathering Place into a fragrant, beautifully landscaped, must-see destination during the holidays. Our donated trees are lit and decorated by Milwaukee area youth groups who participate in the Zoological Society’s Trim-a-Tree program.Vibrantly colored animal ornaments are hand-made by the children and are currently on display through December 29, 2017. This year’s theme, based on “Animals from Around the World,” give these imaginative youth an opportunity to publicly showcase their artistic talents and inspire holiday cheer. Here’s a glimpse from this year’s Trim-a-Tree kick off event as well as a tree decorated by fellow classmates of Wilson Elementary Student Council. Nice teamwork gang!  If you’re in the giving spirit, take a look at the zookeeper-hosted Giving Tree, adorned with ornaments related to items zookeepers need to provide “enrichment toys and treats” for the Zoo’s animals.
